As soon as I started my own natural skin care routine, my skin had never felt better! Within a few weeks time, my breakouts cleared up and my skin felt more supple and glowing! It started with using diluted tea tree oil as a spot treatment for breakouts. As I realized this was helping, I added a few other natural skin care remedies to my routine, and eventually threw out most of my chemical-laden drug store skin products and cosmetics.

The chart below has some common ingredients I use in my skin care – especially in face masks! I use certain items for specific ailments, for example I like spirulina for under eye circles. As I decided to further research the properties of each ingredient, I was surprised at how many awesome benefits I discovered! I created this chart so that it could be used to mix and match, pick and choose from the ingredients available to you to make your own, personalized face mask.

Rather than measuring out ingredients, I typically just add and mix until a paste has formed that can easily be applied to the skin. This usually means equal parts liquid and solid. For best results, keep the mask on for at least 10 minutes before rinsing.

A few bonus tips:
When using oats, I like to throw them in the blender with other ingredients. I find that they stick better to my face when they are broken down a bit!

Turmeric can leave a yellow tint on your skin. I dab and wipe with coconut oil, and it comes right off. Some people like to use raw milk with turmeric, for application as well as removing the tint.
