• If you have no time to make your own broth, you can get some very high quality broth here from OM Mushrooms.
  • You can make the bone broth the traditional way of cooking it for long hours (see recipe below) or you can cook it much quicker in an instant pot.

Instant Pot Bone Broth with a Whole Chicken.

Place 1 large whole chicken in instant pot. Add 2 cups water. Sprinkle with garlic, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Place lid on the Instant Pot and turn the valve to sealing. Select Manual, high pressure (the default), and set the timer. You will cook the chicken for 6 minutes PER POUND of chicken. If you chicken is 3 pounds, you will set the timer for 18 minutes.

When the chicken has finished cooking, remove and let cool. When cooled, remove the meat from the bones. Place all bones, skin and remaining parts that are not meat back into the instant pot. Add in:

2 T Bragg’s Raw apple cider vinegar
1/4 t. celtic or Himalayan pink salt
1 onion
2 stocks celery
1 carrot

Cook on manual for 30 minutes. Once finished, let broth cool. Strain and store for bone broth or use in soup.

Traditional Bone Broth
Cook Time: 12-24 hours
Ingredients:
2-3 lbs organic raw chicken bones , rinsed and cleaned (ask your grocer, just tell them you’re making chicken soup)
2 T Bragg’s Raw apple cider vinegar
1/4 t. celtic or himalayan pink salt
1 onion
2 stocks celery
1 carrot
Directions:
Mix bones, veggies, apple cider vinegar and salt in a crock pot full of water. Turn on low and cook for 12-24 hours (this slow process draws the minerals out of the bones, making it pure medicine). Once finished cooking, strain fat and save broth.
